David Mincham

I’m a development manager with 13 years hands-on experience delivering industry leading software to global customers.  I thrive under pressure, and I enjoy going the extra mile to surprise and impress.

I went from a trainee developer to a team leader within six months, and development manager within three years.  I stayed in this role for a further 10 years.

I’m a confident, calm, and capable team player that loves taking a concept from an idea, through working with the customer to gather requirements, into development, to a customer pleased with the final product.

I’m adaptable, having filled many roles over the years. I have created innovative new products, added features to existing products, fixed bugs, and helped develop team members at different stages of their careers.  I’m always happy to learn from and with others, and I’m passionate about software development.

In a team, I tend to move to fill gaps and help the team keep developing. This often gravitated me towards technical writing. I met with global customers to analyse their requirements for the wider team (mainly UK based) and detail them for the development team (mainly India). I also wrote other documents including scopes / requirements lists, business cases, test approaches / strategies, non-functional requirements, user guides, FAQs, improvement request lists and others.

In my previous role, I spent two and a half years as a team lead, with a team that at one point included 30 team members.  I have continuously worked closely with first- and second-line support, directly with customers, company directors and leadership, the sales team and with a team both remote and in the UK.  In any team I look for opportunities to positively influence the outcome of a project. I enjoy problem solving and looking for the best solution. I am a hardworking, intelligent, enthusiastic person. I work well independently and in a team.
